Our Sales Policy

To the best of our knowledge, we make sure that every goat we sell is healthy at the time of pick up.  If we happen to be aware of any illnesses/issues with a goat, they will be fully made known to the buyer.   We'll gladly give our buyers past health care records and current feeding/care practices

Goats are herd animals and thrive living in groups of two or more.  We will only sell a single goat if someone already has at least one other goat that is similar in age.  Otherwise, goats must be purchased in pairs or groups from us.

It is free to be placed on our waiting list.  We reserve the right to retain any kid(s) born on our farm.  Once kids are born, we'll start contacting people on our waiting list with available goats.  We require a 50% non-refundable deposit to officially reserve a goat.  Deposits can be made via Zelle, cash or check.  We will not hold goats without a deposit.  We have the right to cancel any sale/reservation at any time (deposit will be fully refunded) with no explanation, as we put the health and well-being of our goats above sales.

Deposits will be fully refunded if a goat dies or gets severely sick while still in our care.  If that should happen, the buyer will have the option to choose another goat for replacement if available.  Deposits will NOT be refunded if a buyer backs out.

Any and all fees associated with sending us a payment, such as a faulty check (e.g. non sufficient funds) or a processing charge for online money transfers, is the buyer's responsibility and will be added to their total price.

Our kids are either co-raised (dam & bottle fed) or solely bottle fed.  Kids doing well with bottles must be picked up by 3 weeks of age unless otherwise mentioned or agreed upon.  If bottle kids under deposits are still here after 3 weeks of age, buyers will be charged a $15 (per week, per kid) "care and feed fee" up until 8 weeks of age.  If bottle kids are still not picked up by 8 weeks of age we will offer the kid(s) back up for sale and buyer will forfeit the deposit(s).  In the event a kid just won't take to the bottle, he/she will stay until weaned (around 10-12 weeks of age).

Before leaving, all kids will be disbudded (if not polled), UTD on cocci prevention and tattooed.  Doelings, as well as certain bucklings, will come registered with ADGA.  It is up to the buyer to put a buckling's DNA on file, per ADGA's new rule, before registering their progeny.

Goats will be picked up at our farm unless otherwise agreed upon.  Goats must be paid in FULL before leaving our farm.  We will only accept CASH on the day of pick up.  (*The next part does not apply to bottle kids):  If a buyer does not pick up goat(s) on the agreed upon date, there will be a $5 (per day, per goat) "care and feed" fee up to 7 days.  If the buyer does not pick up goat(s) within 7 days, we reserve the right to sell said goat(s) to someone else and the buyer will lose the deposit, unless a new pick up date has been agreed upon.

Goats must be properly contained while being transported from our farm to yours.  We prefer the goats to be inside of the vehicle (not an open truck bed) in an appropriately sized crate/kennel.  If goats must be transported in an open truck bed, then they have to be in a plastic covered dog kennel (not an open wire crate).  Please be mindful of the weather on the day of pick up when transporting in an open truck bed.

As a common courtesy, we ask that any registered goat purchased from us, is offered back to us first, at the original or fair price, if you ever decide to sell.

Once goats leave our farm, we are NOT liable for anything that might happen to them and can NOT guarantee anything about them.  All sales are final.  Stress from transportation and being in a new environment are just a couple things that can make a goat fall ill or even die.  While we'll gladly discuss caring for goats that have moved to new homes and answer any questions that we can, it is the buyer's responsibility as the new owner to ensure the well-being of their new goat(s).  Prior to purchasing, we strongly encourage new buyers to build a relationship with a veterinarian and do lots of research on proper goat care to make sure that they're well prepared to care for goats.  We'll happily be here as an additional resource for all buyers by helping them out the best we can as we want our buyers to be successful with their goat-keeping journey!

Thanks for considering Dandy Hill Farm!
